Danielle Hao-Aickin 郝丹丹 (She/Her) is a Chinese-New Zealand emerging Arts Practitioner and Musician passionate about her heritage to Xi’An, China. She is currently the General Manager at youth enterprise and charity Youth Arts New Zealand, and one half of the indie-folk duo Ersha Island 二沙岛 alongside her younger sibling. Danielle grew up in China (Xi’An 西安, Guangzhou 广州, and Beijing 北京) and is fluent in both Mandarin and English. She studied classical piano at the Beijing China Conservatory of Music for 2 years before moving to New Zealand at the age of 16. Having gone through significant moves in her life, she is deeply passionate about her mixed race identity and Asian representation. Having completed a Bachelor’s of Music at the University of Auckland in 2021, Danielle's achievements include being Dux of Solway College in Masterton, winning the Top Achievers Scholarship for University in 2018, and earning the President of the Year Award for her work in the School of Music Students’ Association.
